The Beat

Arnhem Gallery,

Fairfield Halls,

Friday 15th November 2013

Calling all Rude Bwoys and Rude Gyals. Let’s be avin you.

Where are ya? Er, Croydon. That’s where.

Hundreds of them packed into Arnhem Gallery, Fairfield Halls, to witness the return to live performance of the legendary ska band, ‘The Beat’.

The audience were taken right back to their youth with a scintillating rocking and rousing rendition of their ska-tastic music. It was a real joy to hear the lilting rhythm of their songs sounding as fresh and vibrant as they did in the 1980’s via the melodic voices of Ranking Roger and his son Ranking Junior.

Highlights of course were the much loved hits, ‘ Mirror in the bathroom’, ‘Hands off she’s mine’, ‘Too Nice to talk to’ and ‘Can’t get used to losing you’.

You can step to the funky rhythm of The Beat across the UK from February 2014 as they continue on their national tour.
